We are a family-run English, Country House Hotel - the British equivalent of those homely places in wonderful surroundings you sometimes chance across when driving through continental Europe and wonder why you have never heard of us before. And if you are headed for the continent, then we are the last stop on your way, just ten minutes drive from the Port of Dover.
We are not corporate, nor part of a laminated chain. You will not find a conference room, nor a screen for a Powerpoint ™ presentation…but if you wish to do business, we can find you a condusive space. (We have a quiet lounge bar, rooms with free wi-fi, but also have a cabin in the woods for brainstorms and another for stress-busting massages)
What you will find, is a homely, personal welcome.
Above all, you will discover the finest food outside London, the best of Kentish produce, prepared and cooked by a kitchen that boasts a Michelin Star winner and alumni of Marco Pierre White's kitchen and Rick Stein's school of cuisine.
Our food, like our music and staff, are locally sourced, native and in season. Some of it is rustic in the best sense, while others the nadir of sophistication and urbanity. We will always have the best fish, flesh and fowl the county has to offer at a price that won't scare the horses..
We are lucky to be located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, in one of Kent's most historic buildings, built around a Wealden Hall that, since the 12th Century, has hosted everyone from Crusading Princes to Winston Churchill. Despite our pedigree, we are not stuffy, we've only been here for forty years.
Of course, you may dress for dinner and we will provide the starched napery, discretion and service fit for a King. Equally, you can keep your jeans on for dinner, roll up your shirtsleeves and eat exactly the same food at our rustic Chef's table. Champagne or beer to accompany - your choice, our cellar holds deep stock of both.
We aim to make Wallett's Court a home from home, but better; a relaxing respite with wonderful food, refreshments in relaxing company and surroundings.
